Romans 8:18 “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” How wonderful it is to work for a ministry, that IS a ministry! Although I have yet to meet everyone, I know that everyone whom I have met, loves the Lord. I have worked in several youth facilities and residences, but none that share, and reveal, the love of Christ the way unCUFFED does! In my first 2 weeks I was able to share my story of deliverance, listen to a few awesome teachings, experience a spirit filled bible study through my colleague, have a mentoring meeting with 2 youths, shoot some basketball, teach a couple of card tricks, watch Kim take every situation as if it were her own, enjoy playing drums with a fantastic drummer, talk a youth out of his anger into his good thoughts of his family, watch John’s passion for his work, and last but not least, hear the city correctional staff change their mind about me coming in to their facilities.
I’ve also been able to enjoy my food, as I had been experiencing stress before coming here. This I believe, is a direct result of continuously being in a space of praise and worship. Yes, I am including the time I’ve spent in the jails. This ministry is so important to the reduction of recidivism! I am grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our youth, and look forward to a long tenure
here to be used by God.
If we’ve yet to meet, know that I am looking forward to it.
